Our ERP vendor, Ellucian, requires that we upgrade from Banner 8.x to Banner 9.x by December 2018. This upgrade provides a new interface to all Banner Administrative applications (previously called Banner INB) and those Banner 9 Self-Service applications (previously called BannerWeb) that are available. Note: as of March 26, 2018, Ellucian has not upgraded every Banner 8.x BannerWeb module so there will be a mix of Banner 8.x and Banner 9.x Self-Service modules.

Banner 9 Admin is primarily a user interface (UI) change with a more modern look and feel; the underlying data is the same as 8.x. The changes (although significant) are primarily cosmetic, so admin processes should remain relatively unaffected by this upgrade.

Upgrading to Banner 9 is not the same as a re-implementation of Banner; these are distinctly different initiatives.
