After Kmart went into extinction, Jaclyn Smith Collection moved over to Sears

Smith said she’s very sad about the collapse of Kmart. “Kmart is part of my history. But you know retail is a moving target, there is competition.” At Kmart, “There was just this constant coming and going of CEOs and people. You still have to put a constant flow of merchandise out there. For however the company was being run, it went more to hardlines and wasn’t concentrating so much on apparel. But Sears is still struggling and looks not to be around much longer

Walmart. Walmart and Kmart are much closer in trashy clientele. Target is a touch more upscale than those two.

Target has gone in the direction of Free People/boho style clothing for women. They don't sell Allison Daley grandma crap there.

There is no room for Jaclyn Smith at Target, but Walmart would be fine.

Target has no time for Jaclyn Smith’s schmattas. The retail giant is gearing up for the Helen Lawson Collection. Naughty lingerie for women “of a certain age”. Includes edible prune-flavored panties and industrial strength push up bras.

Jacklyn is extremely rich and extremely old. Why not call it quits on a high note of success? The line was a success financially and customers liked it. Just walk away.

Target is much too eclectic for Jaclyn’s office wear. Over the years they’ve done collaborations with Liberty of London, Isaac Mizrahi, Michael Graves, Missoni, Lilly Pulitzer, Vineyard Vines and other designer houses that show actual imagination and creativity.
