He was 19 years old when he won the WWE United Kingdom Championship becoming the youngest singles champion in WWE history as well as its youngest inaugural champion.

With Preston City Wrestling, he debuted as “The Iron Master” Tyler Bate at PCW Fright Night III in which he competed unsuccessfully in a 4-way match which also featured Charlie Garrett, Rich Swann, and Zack Gibson.

With the American professional wrestling promotion Chikara, Tyler Bate made his debut in early 2015 alongside Trent Seven and they defeated The Hunter Brothers in a dark match on April 3, 2015, but later lost to the Devastation Corporation (Max Smashmaster and Blaster McMassive) in another dark match on April 6, 2015.

He defeated Pastor William Eaver, Mark Haskins, and Matt Riddle to make it to the finals of the Super Strong Style 16 Tournament but lost to Travis Banks in the finale.

For his NXT debut on February 1, 2017, Tyler Bate defeated American wrestler Oney Lorcan.

In the 2nd annual United Kingdom Championship Tournament’s 6-man tag team match in 2018, Bate, Pete Dunne, and Trent Seven (known in Europe as British Strong Style) defeated The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, and Roderick Strong).
